Do you work with businesses as well as NFP’s?

Yes, we also work with socially minded and purpose driven businesses so if this is you then we’d love to help tell your story.

Do you work outside Sydney?

            We work remotely for clients all over Australia and New Zealand.

Do you work with small organisations or just large ones?

            We work with organisations of all sizes, large and small. 

How much should I budget for content?

These are ballparks, to give you an idea of the budget you’ll need, and once we’ve talked through the details we can work out a cost to suit your budget.

  • 3-5 min Video
    • If you film/script yourself and we edit, prices range from approx. $495 – $1,500
    • If you film but we script and edit, prices range from approx. $1,650 – $3,000
    • If we produce the video entirely for you, the price range varies depending on the brief, from $2,500 – $10,000+
  • Blog piece – around $600
  • Website content – from $500
  • Design – anywhere from $300 – $2,000 depending on complexity

Do you partner with other like-minded businesses or individuals?

We certainly do, we love a collaboration, so if you have something in mind get in touch!

Who owns the content you make for me?

Unless there are elements of the project that include someone else’s intellectual property (like code for an App), you own your content.


What is ‘content’?

Our definition of content is any type of communication – written, video, photographic, graphic, audio, a whitepaper, training or reference material – that educates or empowers your audience or illustrates your work and impact and gives value to your audience.

Why do I need content?

The hands down best way to build trust and a relationship with an audience is to show them what you do and what you care about. Good content does this in an engaging and effective way.

I’ve never made content before, where do I start?

The first thing to think about is what you need the content to achieve.  Once you’ve identified the purpose and goal for your content, think about the best way to communicate that in a way that will resonate with your ideal audience.  But if you get stuck, just think about what you want to achieve and we can work out the rest together.

How do I know how much content I need?

It really depends on your communications strategy, but if you have an active social media presence you need to be posting at least once a week. Consistency is key so work out what’s feasible to make and create a content schedule. Quality is much more important than quantity.

What sort of content do you create?

We create video, written content (blog pieces, articles, website copy), infographics, photography and podcasts.

Do you help with coming up with ideas?

We sure do!  It’s actually our favourite part, nothing makes our heart sing like a collaborative brainstorm. 

What sort of content do I need?

It depends on your communications strategy but at the very least an explainer video of what you do and why you do it on your home page, engages audiences and improves your SEO. Then short videos shot on your phone, photography and graphics for social media posts and blog pieces. Some of the things that really engage audiences are cheat sheets, Top 5 lists, case studies or articles that educate, empower and inspire.

Why is video content important?

Video wins hearts and minds faster and more effectively than any other type of content.  Viewers are more likely to ‘feel’ your purpose and values when they see and hear about them in action.

What’s the ROI of video content?

Good question and kind of tricky to answer.  If you’re promoting an event or selling a product it could be as simple as the number of people who buy.  But if you’re wanting to raise awareness of your organisation’s mission it might be numbers of people who like your Facebook page or sign up for your newsletter.  These people may go on to donate/buy later but you might not be able to attribute it to your video. And then there’s the trust and relationship building aspect which is invaluable but hard to measure.  It’s a bit like electricity – you can’t see it but you know it’s there and can see its effects.

Can I make content myself?

You sure can.  One of the things we love to do is inspire and empower people to make their own content – even video!  We have training available and a Virtual Comms Manager membership that inspires, encourages and enables members to plan, create and schedule their own content.  And for anything you don’t have the time/energy for, we can help.

How do I know what social media platforms are best for sharing my content? Do you help with that?

In a word, yes. It will entirely depend on who your ideal audience is as to which social media platforms you use.  We’d love to help you work that out.

Production Services

What’s involved in the process of making a video?

The basic steps are

  • Get your story right
  • Think about who to tell that story
  • Plan your shoot
  • Film your story
  • Editing – you may need graphics and music for this part too.

Before you even think about picking up a camera you need to think about the purpose, audience and goal of your video.  Then think about what kind of story would communicate that purpose and achieve that goal in a way that resonates with your audience. Think about who to have on camera and what to show that will tell that story. How long does it take?

It depends on how complicated it is and how much you need us to do but if we’re writing, producing, filming and editing the video it could take 3-4 weeks.  If you have a script and just need us to edit your footage it could be 2 weeks. We have made them faster in emergencies.

How do your post production services work?

We can do as much or as little post production (and pre-production for that matter!) as you need.  If you’ve already scripted and filmed your story but need help with the editing, graphics and music we can help with that. Or if you’ve got footage but aren’t sure what to do with it we can script and edit it. Or we can script, film, produce and post produce the whole video. 

How can we keep costs down?

The best way to keep costs down is to do as much of the work yourself. We can give you all sorts of tips and tricks to make creating your content easier (and fun!) from how to find and write your story, how to make it visually compelling and how to create it yourself.

Why do I need a membership?

A membership lets you relax knowing that someone (us) is providing all the resources you might need to create your own written, visual or video content.  Having all the information curated for your sector saves you time and brain space. A membership also gives you regular newsletters full of tips, tricks, inspiration and training to keep you up to date with all the latest in strategy, planning and content creation.  And last, but definitely not least, you’ll be part of a community of like minds who know the NFP world to bounce ideas off, get ideas from and make friends.

What if I need more than the basic membership?

We can create an upgraded membership that has any other support you need, like:

  • Regular content brainstorming and planning (you’ll walk away with at least a month’s worth of content ideas!)

Do I have to have a membership? Can I just engage you for individual projects?

We love the relationship we build with our members but you can certainly just engage us for an individual job.

What if I want to cancel a membership?

We’ll be sorry to see you go but if you do need to cancel just log in to the memberships area, go to your members profile and select cancel my membership.


What sort of training do you offer?

We offer online or face-to-face training in storytelling, filmmaking, editing and content strategy, planning and creation.

Do you offer tailored training so we just get what we need?

We can tailor online (via Zoom) or face-to-face training to whatever you or your team need and nothing you don’t need.

How do I access your training?

All our training modules are included in our membership but are also available for purchase as short courses. If you need tailored training, let us know what you need and we’ll cost it up for you.

Is your training online or face-to-face?

We have both online and face-to-face training available.

What is communications management?

In a nutshell Communications management is the co-ordination and dissemination of strategic communication to engage your ideal audiences’ hearts and minds, to motivate and inspire them to support your cause. It’s critical to a not-for-profits ability to build the trust and relationships that will attract the support you need to create the outcomes and impact you dream of.

How does the Virtual Comms Manager work?

Most not-for-profits run pretty lean meaning there is often too much to do and not enough time for the staff who keep them going.  Our Virtual Comms Manager membership takes the heavy lifting out of Comms Management for small, or not so small organisations.
